Altered Art -- It's Not Just for Books

Altered art is becoming increasingly popularin various other forms.

Altered playing cards. I altered the entire deck as a gift to a friend. Each card contains a photograph, a feminist quotation and a embellishment of some sort.

What Can You Alter?

Anything you want. I have seen pictures of altered postcards, altered playing cards, altered purses, altered brown paper bags, altered luggage, altered shoes and an altered car. I have even seen pictures of an altered house. That's a little ambitious for my taste, but it goes to show you that there are no limits.

Why Alter Things?

Because you can. Because its an art form. No-one asks why painters paint pictures, but oddly, people have problems understanding our art form.
